“The Walnut Creek Specialized Day Camp is a 6-week day camp over the summer open to kids ages 5-21. About 90-95% of the kids attending are on the spectrum. They do arts and crafts; go to the park and on walking field trips plus go swimming 2x per week. We loved the program and more importantly my 7 year old autistic son loved it. He was so excited to go every day and said he can’t wait to go back next year. The Director and camp counselors just want the kids to be.who they are and.have fun. The Director has been running the program for over 20 years and most camp counselors have chosen to work their for at least 3 summers. Also they have partnered with. RCEB and if you qualify, you can use your kid’s respite outside days and it is only $20 per week.”
